Ballroom dancing was, perhaps, nearing its peak when Elks Temple construction was completed in 1916. Later, as other forms of entertainment like radio and TV captured Americans’ attention, the popularity of ballroom dancing diminished, but the Elks’ enthusiasm did not. They continued to host Vaudevillian shows, fundraisers, father-daughter dances, and parties in the ballroom until 1965 when the organization moved to a new location.
We’ve revived this grand venue – 21st century style! A Bose sound system with predictive software uses wave guides to focus sound, creating top-notch quality tailored to the space. Mixing history with modernity, two-story murals inspired by Wagner’s Ring cycle opera grace the walls, and with a capacity of 700, live music dominates. Our nightly line-up is fantastically diverse.

Tickets for all McMenamins shows are ticketed by Cascade Tickets, and may be purchased at the Spanish Ballroom box office, by phone at 1-855-CAS-TIXX, or by clicking the "Buy Tickets" link located at the event listing on our schedules.
Tickets bought directly at the Spanish Ballroom box office or any of our ticket outlets will only incur a $2 + tax facility charge.
We ask that all patrons attending a show in the Spanish Ballroom please enter through the 1st floor lobby off of Commerce St. near the bottom side of the Spanish Steps.
Door times for the Spanish Ballroom are typically 1 hour before the show *This is subject to change* but we would love to invite you to come grab a bite to eat, stay for a drink and check out all the fun our property has to offer preceding any event!
